About Monogram: Founded in 2004, Monogram Food Solutions began operations
when a group of Memphis investors purchased King Cotton and Circle B
Brand foods from Sara Lee Corporation of Chicago. The purchase signified
a homecoming for the brands. King Cotton was founded nearly 70 years ago
in Memphis. King Cotton and Circle B are among the leading brands in
retail sales of hot dogs, corn dogs, sandwich meats, and smoked sausages
in the US.
In May of 2006, Monogram Food Solutions continued to
expand with the acquisition of Trail's Best Meat Snacks from Sara Lee
Corporation of Chicago. Trail's Best is one of the nations
largest manufacturers of quality meat snacks; including jerky, meat and
cheese snacks, kippered beef sticks and pickled sausages. The
manufacturing facility is located in Chandler, Minnesota and has a Sales
and Marketing office in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The new division was
named Monogram Meat Snacks. The Meat Snacks division recently acquired
facilities in Muncie, IN and Martinsville, VA.
Position Overview: This position will be responsible for
developing and executing broad quality and food safety policies and
process across 3 meat processing plants. On a tactical level this position
will focus on opportunities to improve quality, enhance food safety and
reduce costs. From a strategic perspective Monogram Food Solutions
believes the company can leverage world class quality and food safety as
a strategic advantage not easily matched by its competition.
Understand Monogram Food Solutions current quality and food safety
practices and procedures. Assess and evaluate existing and proposed
quality and risk mitigation on a plant by plant basis.
Take a lead role and work closely with operations and technical services
on specific quality and food safety related activities.
Develop and cultivate constructive relationships with relevant government
agencies such as the USDA.
Develop and submit annual budgets for quality and food safety
Experience and Skills: The successful candidate will have a
technical background and education in food science, ideal candidates will
have a master’s degree in a relevant discipline. He/ she will have a
minimum of 10 to 15 years in the quality and food safety functions within
the food industry. Ideal candidates will have specific experience in the
ready to eat meat processing industry. All candidates must have
established relationships with the USDA and other relevant regulatory
