To provide expertise for product quality management and food safety systems that result in enhanced customer satisfaction and increased profits.

Food Safety & Quality leadership ' Directly leading a team of 5 to 8 direct manager reports and 30 to 50 technologists across multiple manufacturing facilities.

Lead plant QA manager's performance review. Set annual goals/objectives, assess quarterly/annual performance. Review and approve all candidates for future open position as a plant QA manager.

Conduct on-going skill assessment analysis of plant Quality Assurance (QA) managers and plant QA organizations. Coordinate with plant management and corporate Human Resources (HR) corrective action to rectify identified skill gaps.

Develop, implement, and assess the effectiveness/manageability of Rich Products Corporation (RPC) food safety and quality policies/programs

Partner with the Regional Operations Leader and as an integral member of the Regional Steering team so as to ensure alignment and implementation of Quality and Business goals and objectives.

Conduct on-going gap analysis of plant Quality Management Systems (QMS). Coordinate with plant management corrective action to eliminate identified QMS gaps.

Coordinate the development and delivery of quality and food safety training programs with plant management.

Mentor plant management and associates in quality and food safety management

Drive and lead major Food Safety and Quality capital projects.
Review all major Capital engineering designs for food safety, sanitary or quality design flaws.

Facilitate multi-functional deployment of quality systems in support of the commercialization process.

Review key in-process and finished product metrics. Review on-going cost of quality metrics with operations business unit leaders and marketing category managers.

Provide support to business units and customers as subject matter expert in quality management.

Coordinate risk analysis and corrective action of food safety incidents (Class 1, 2, or 3) with plant management and the recall committee.

Respond to external Regulatory / Govt or customer food safety audits or queries.

Lead Food Safety and Quality portions of all major Integrations and Divestitures.

Build strategic Customer QA to QA partnerships representing RPC interests in supporting our Customer Intimacy strategic building block.

Lead Customer Issues resolution for recurring customer issues related to their region.

Set strategic direction for QA department by participating on Quality Leadership team.

Active members of PCT (Product category Teams)

Frequent contributors to the following leadership teams (OLT, MLT & SLT).

What do I need to be considered a candidate?
10 years on-the-job experience in quality and food safety systems

5 (min) of the 10 years of experience must be in a decision-making position (authority to define, execute or control projects/processes and to be responsible for the outcome)

BS in Food Science or related field

Recommend HACCP certification, FPA/GMA ' SAFE auditor certification, Six-Sigma Green Belt certification (minimal), & Pest Control Operator certification (non license)

Prefer experience in Infinity Quality Systems (IQS) software

American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification as a Quality Engineer and/or Quality Manager a plus

Statistical process control, corrective action and continuous process improvement experience

Cost of quality analysis experience

Specifications, calibration and process capability experience

Conflict resolution skills

Planning and designing quality projects and procedures experience.

Implementation of quality initiatives experience

Developing, delivering and evaluating quality and food safety training programs experience.

Project management training

Personal computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Office programs and statistical software

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, consensus building and presentation skills.

Working knowledge of food processing, regulatory requirements, food preservation, food borne illness, food allergies, pest management, sanitary design, sanitation and food microbiology.

Working knowledge of a quality system as described in the ISO 9001/2000 Standard

The physical capabilities an associate must have to perform the essential functions of this position are:

Ability to conduct visual inspections
Ability to physically travel interstate and internationally about 30% of the time
Ability to climb ladders and enter confined spaces
Ability to drive a car
