Seafoods, Inc., a leading seafood importer,
distributor and marketer of premium quality branded seafood in Boston is
looking for a Quality Assurance Assistant.
Job Description
The QA Assistant is
responsible for helping the QA Manager maintain quality
integrity in the fresh and frozen inventory as well as help create and
monitor Stavis’ and customers’ product
specifications. The QA Assistant will be involved in extensive product
sampling and testing spending the majority of the time on the floor working
with and reviewing product.
The QA Assistant will perform the following tasks:
- Spot check for accuracy: fresh
and frozen product descriptions, weights and counts and quality
assessments
- Extensively check & monitor
Stavis’ cut and carried fresh inventory
- Provide immediate feedback and
pictures to Stavis’ buyers and sales staff
- Extensively sample product per
product specifications and generate appropriate reports
- Assist in product development
and yield tests
- Assist in development of
product specifications
- Accurately fill out all
required paperwork and organize sampling of product for various lab
tests
- Help develop in house lab for
testing product
- Assist in employee training and
sanitation procedures
- Help with plant sanitation
inspections of facilities
- Perform duties per Stavis HACCP procedures and SSOPs
- Perform other duties as deemed
necessary by Stavis Management
Requirements:
A candidate
for the job must:
- Be computer literate and
organized
- Be able to lift a minimum of 50
lb
- Be able to count accurately
- Be able to work in an extremely
cold environment
- Working knowledge of fresh and
frozen seafood
- HACCP certified preferred
