REQUIREMENTS
|
- Leads
the development of new and breakthrough products which will
give competitive advantage in the marketplace
- Assists
in the identification, development, refinement and planning of
new product concepts that will create new business
opportunities or meet business unit strategies
- Leads
the development and commercialization of very complex projects
involving new technology or the application of existing
technologies that lead to new opportunities for the company
- Develops
experimental formulas, processing procedures, and
specifications for raw ingredients, subassemblies, and
finished products for new products, product improvement, and
cost reduction products that meet project parameters of
established pricing, Marketing goals, food regulations, and
operation feasibility
- Leads
Applied Research, Process Development, Innovation, and
Operations in the development, transfer and commercialization
of new technology
- Manages
complex test runs to validate or modify experimental formulas
and processing procedures to develop final specifications for
the production of finished products and ensure reproducibility
- Processes
complex formulas, specifications, and requirement for new
products, product improvement, cost reduction, and new or
modified production line
- Leads
team members to ensure successful start-ups of new products,
product improvement, cost reduction, ingredient, formula,
specification or process changes
- Provides
advanced technical solutions to production issues as it
relates to ingredient, formulas, processing procedures, and
specifications to ensure continuous production of existing
products and maintain product quality and safety
- Documents
all work according to established procedures and guidelines
and prepare various project reports to project personnel to
ensure complete communication of project status, progress,
issues, solutions, timeline, and accountability
- May
be required to supervise less experienced scientists,
engineers, food technologists, and technicians

QUALIFICATIONS
|
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Years
of related experience: 8-10 years related experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite;
solid interpersonal skills; good understanding of the different
markets in the food industry; advanced knowledge of algebra,
physics, chemistry, statistics and/or experimental design;
extensive knowledge and understanding of food ingredients, food
functionality and food processing techniques/methods and equipment
in various product platforms or categories; ability to comprehend
and interpret technical articles, research papers or presentations;
must be able to apply technical learned knowledge to a wide variety
of situations; advanced ability to define problems, collect data,
establish facts, draw valid conclusions and offer solutions;
ability to taste and ingest any type of food product currently
under development
