Description The Kellogg Company has an exciting opportunity for a Plant
Food Safety Manager located in Grand Rapids, MI.
This position provides leadership, direction, and oversight to a
specific manufacturing location, for Quality and Food Safety. This role
exists to ensure the facility delivers the required standards of
quality and food safety according to Kellogg policies, procedures, and
practices. This role is also responsible for delivery of continuous
improvement and working with Corporate Quality in the execution of
company programs. The role delivers these accountabilities through
direct involvement with manufacturing, corporate quality, the plant
leadership team, and plant/bakery employees. This position is required
to provide a high degree of operational management and execution, focus
on continuous improvement and the ability to ensure food safety of all
products being produced and packaged at the facility.
The role will ensure key operations metrics are established, the
delivery of the established metrics, and that quality and food safety
expectations are met. This role directs, plans, and implements food
safety, quality, and sanitation programs for the facility. This role
requires the partnering with Corporate Quality & Food Safety
regarding corporate programs and best practices. This position ensures
adherence to required quality & food safety laws, regulations, corporate
policies and practices. This position has the authority to suspend the
operation of the facility based upon specific non-compliance criteria.

Position Requirements Candidate Minimum Qualifications:
?BA degree in food science, microbiology, or equivalent is required with
8 to 10 years experience in quality & food safety.
?Previous HACCP certification program design and implementation is
?Thorough technical knowledge of quality & food safety is required.
?Strong written & verbal communication skills, analytical ability,
leadership strengths and ability to work effectively with a team are
Computer software skills to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
?Must have a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
?Candidate Preferred Qualifications:
?Prior Quality & Food Safety leadership experience is preferred.
?Experience in managing people and processes is preferred.
?Food processing and packaging is desired.
?Knowledge of SQF level 2000 certification requirements a plus
