Peppers recalled in Ohio because of salmonella concerns

UNDATED (AP) -- A Georgia produce company has recalled peppers shipped to stores in Ohio and two other states because of possible salmonella contamination.

Herring Produce says the affected half-bushel boxes of Anaheim peppers carry the lot number 0801206.

No illnesses have been reported.

Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.
