A company that makes sports and nutritional products announced today it is recalling whey protein concentrate over fears it is contaminated with salmonella.

Max Muscle Sports Nutrition said the recall affects seven products that were manufactured in January and February of this year and sold nationwide.

The company said it had not received any reports of illness. Salmonella can cause digestive problems and can even be fatal. Customers should throw the recalled products out or return them to the store for a refund.

If you have any questions, call the company at 1-888-629-6872, ext. 119, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST.
