Director Quality Assurance and Food Safety – Food Manufacturer - Rochester, MN

 We’re searching for a Dir. of Quality that will lead the quality function for a food manufacturing company.  Will be a hands on leader for food manufacturing plant.  This person will be part of a dynamic leadership team.   Position is responsible for developing and executing a “Best in Class” Quality program.  The successful candidate will be a confident leader with a track record of superior hands-on accomplishments along with developing people and processes successfully. Some qualifications include:·         10 years in progressively more responsible Food Safety and Quality Assurance roles (Food industry a must)

  • Expertise in development and support of the Quality Team,  functioning in a broad hands-on quality and food safety role that requires both the strategic vision development and the tactical project execution. 
  • Must have experience in FDA / UDSA, regulatory compliance, vendor certification, supply chain performance, contract fulfillment, SQF (or similar), HACCP, Quality management systems, compliance and issue resolution.  
  • Experience building or revamping a quality function critical.     
  • Proven competencies in influencing others, change management, interfacing with operations, product development and customers. 
  • Dynamic personality, results orientation, analytical skills and solid understanding of balance between ideal and reality.   
  • BS or MS in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or related field required.

Candidates could come from a Plant or Corporate Quality Management role.  Must be looking for a hands on quality role that is combined with strategic development.  Our client offers a broad role within an open, direct culture, and a true commitment to quality.  This role will shape the future of the department and the company.   Base compensation of 90-110K.
