We are seeking a dynamic and talented functional
food product development specialist to join our team and have a critical
role in the development of innovative nutrition products leveraging our
advanced microalgae ingredients. This role will appeal to professionals
excited by an entrepreneurial environment and the opportunity to play a
leadership role in creating truly innovative and highly beneficial
functional food products. This position is based in South San Francisco,
California.
Responsibilities:
- Will be responsible for the
development of new functional food products in multiple categories
utilizing our ingredients – including beverages, snacks, dairy
alternative foods and frozen desserts.
- Will be responsible for
managing and working closely with outside food development
laboratories that will assist in the product development
- Will work closely with the
team to develop the product test protocols
- Will manage stability and
other product testing, managing outside vendors to complete the work
- Will be responsible for
on-going ingredient and formulation enhancements
- Will serve as a product
development expert on the team for key customer meetings and at
trade shows, etc
Requirements:
- 5-10 years
experience in food product development – ideally working with
multiple functional food categories
- Ideally a master’s degree
in Food Science or related field; at minimum a bachelor’s degree in
Food Science or related field
- A passion for healthy natural
food products and a genuine interest and awareness of nutrition
product trends
- Based in, or willing to
relocate to, the San Francisco bay area.
- Ability and willingness to
travel 20% of the time
- Highly organized and
well-suited to a fast-paced environment
- A dynamic and high energy
individual driven by a desire to bring truly beneficial innovations
to the marketplace
