Volt Workforce Solutions has a long-term position available in Warrendale, PA for an Ingredient Specification Specialist.

Position Description:

As part of the R&D Specification team, the Ingredient Specification Specialist will work to write new or updated Ingredient Specifications, through the Product Development Lifecycle, for use in finished products. Constant communication between key stakeholders (including internal and external customers) is the key to success in this position.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Write Ingredient Specifications.
  • Request, collect, and manage all required supporting documentation.
  • Manage and organize relevant documentation.
  • Follow-up with internal and external Project teams.
  • Enter all information and Project documentation into web-based Project Management applications.
  • Forward specification for vendor sign-off.

Required Skills for this Ingredient Specification Specialist position include the following:

  • Must be able to excel in a time-sensitive environment
  • Should be able to apply Food Science regulations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications – i.e. Excel, Outlook


  • BS or BA Degree OR equivalent experience in Food Science, Nutrition, Biology, and/or Chemistry
  • Familiarity with Relational Database systems
  • Experience with Data Entry
  • MS SharePoint experience
  • Experience in the Food Industry
