BRC/ Quality Systems Compliance Supervisor

Job Description

  • BRC Certification:  Manage and maintain BRC standards and certification. Coordinate with our outside quality consultant.  Insure up-to-date knowledge of the requirements of other third-party auditors such as FDA and Dept of Health
  • Quality Systems:  Review, verify, file, and maintain records relating to product safety, regulatory, and quality systems. Address and resolve safety, regulatory, material and performance issues in the Plant.  Identify possible product defects, provide direction for improvement
  • HACCP: Complete/update documentation for HACCP Plan (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).  Identify risks.  Develop action plan to eliminate or minimize risks.
  • Plant Inspections:  Conduct audits of procedures used in all areas of the plant (pest control, operations, maintenance, sanitation, personnel practices, etc.).  Issue reports containing walk-through results, GMP observations, quality issues and corrective actions.
  • Corrective Action: Follow-up corrective actions with Managers to ensure that they are being implemented in a timely manner.
  • Management Meetings:  Maintain schedule calendars to stay on track with required management and committee meetings, training, and reviews.
  • Certifications: Keep informational paperwork current including: Kosher certificates, supplier letters of continuing guarantee, certificates of analysis etc.  Requires phone, letter and e-mail correspondence with suppliers.
  • Formulas and Labeling: Verify product formula and labeling compliance (FDA, FPLA).
  • Customer Service: Investigate and respond to customer complaints within 24 hours. Review customer feedback to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.  Implement corrective actions.
  • Personnel Training: Train and review good hygiene, sanitation and safety policies among employees. Measure employee adherence.  Ensure accident/loss prevention and security policies are communicated and followed.

·        Traceability/ product recall:  Serve as information manager in event of product recall.  Coordinate product traceability exercises.  Hold and release product based on non-conformance or food safety issues.

  • Data Analysis: Assist with various data collection and analysis projects.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Ability to analyze data and project trends and correlations
  • 2 + years of quality control experience in a food manufacturing environment ( preferably bakery)
  • Experience in the implementation and auditing of GFSI/SQF/ BRC standards
  • Training in HACCP Plan implementation
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and customers
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited four year institution of higher learning preferred
  • Bilingual preferred ( Spanish/English)
