Nainital (Uttarakhand), July 15 (PTI) Three members of a family died and nine others fell ill after they consumed poisonous food at Bhomara village of the district, official sources said today.

It is suspected that some poisonous substance somehow got mixed in the food, which was later consumed by the family last night, they said.

As the family members had the food, they started vomiting and were soon rushed to the hospital. But, three of them died on the way to hospital, the sources said.

The condition of other nine members is stated to be serious.
