Head of Product Development / Nutrition
Location: New York City, NY Type: Full Time Min. Experience: Mid Level As the Head of Product Development / Nutrition, you
will own our product development strategy, aiming to create the best products
on the nutrition market. Your role is to partner with our suppliers and
in-house formulation team to create a unique and stellar product assortment.
You understand what it takes to develop best-in-class products from product
ideation, through regulatory affairs and merchandising, to manufacturing
management. You have an innovative product formulation sense, a strong
scientific/nutritional background, and a passion for making people healthier
and happier.

Develop regulation-compliant products based
on scientific support, substantiation of claims, product labeling statements,
and market demand ·
Conduct formal analysis of new products and
ingredients by external contacts to determine scientific viability and
applications ·
Advise team on product analysis and
scientific support to instill product integrity and knowledge across the team
·
Partner with formulation team to design
products in line with best-in-class standards and innovative ingredients ·
Monitor regulatory trends, consumer product
trends, scientific literature for new information in health and nutrition
that can be applied to, or result in, new products or claims ·
Encourage, establish and maintain
relationships with industry, academic and government organizations ·
Conduct blind palatability tests including
maintenance of samples, questionnaires, and results Abilities & Experience ·
Passion for healthy living ·
BA or Graduate Degree in a
Dietetics/Nutrition Science related field and 4+ years’ experience in
food/supplement industry or Master’s Degree in Nutrition and 2+ years of
industry experience ·
Extensive knowledge of nutrition, nutrigenomics, vitamins, minerals, ingredients, and
botanicals ·
Experience sourcing and managing private
label manufacturing ·
Resourcefulness, flexibility, and
exceptional teamwork skills ·
Ability to work in a fast-paced,
high-productivity environment with tight deadlines |
