Executive Director of Food Safety

Assesses, develops, implements and monitors food safety management systems

Evaluates, revises and develops university protocols for food safety
Maintains and edits the Food Safety and Sanitation Manual

Collaborates with other departments to assess and minimize the risks involved with various sanitation concerns including facilities design, supplier control, equipment maintenance, chemical management and pest control

Conducts spot inspections of food labs, dining facilities and practicum properties

Guides and trains designated food safety staff

Reviews inspection reports and summary data to assess various concerns including potential changes to protocols and systems or additional training for staff

Prepares and monitors departmental budget

Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum of a master's degree

Moderate amount of experience working in foodservice sanitation or in other related work

Master's degree or greater in science as appropriate to the position

Obtain and maintain food safety managers certification approved by the Conference for Food Protection
