Description:
We are working with a national leader in the fresh cut / processed
categories. This company is seeking a Director of Food Safety and Quality
to implement, manage, and grow the company's food safety and quality
programs.
This position is based in the Salinas Valley region and requires some
travel during the winter months to Yuma, AZ.
Responsibilities Include
Maintain
the highest level of food safety and product integrity across all
product lines and brands
Manage
and lead a cross-functional QC team
Support
and enhance comprehensive quality system programs including HAACP,
GMP and SSOP
Create
processing systems and operating parameters that consistently meet
or exceed product specifications
Develop
indicators and indices for consistent monitoring of product quality
performance
Facilitate
continuous process and product improvement in the food safety and
quality programs
Provide
leadership and education relating to local, state and federal
guidelines on produce food safety and quality
Spearhead
organic certification and integrity of all processing facilities and
products
Experienced
in SQF 3000 and Global GAP audits and operating requirements
Experience
managing third party audit process (such as Davis Fresh, Siliker,
Primus, etc.)
Special
Requirements:
Requirements Include
Minimum
of five years management experience in a food processing environment
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
Ability
to develop reports and spreadsheets for upper management
Be
an independent self starter with entrepreneurial spirit
Excellent
problem solving and organizational skills
Ability
to multi-task in a changing, fast paced environment
Ability
to develop and give presentations
Bilingual
preferred, but not required
