Brief Description

In this role you will drive compliance to food safety requirements across Schreiber global facilities. Support and give guidance to the organization for the Big 5 of Food Safety, environmental pathogen monitoring, food safety training, HACCP and related customer/supplier initiatives. Work with stakeholders to identify gaps and implement robust solutions.

Due to the amount of time spent at specific plants, this position can be located at the following locations: Green Bay, WI; Logan, UT; Carthage, MO.

Detailed Description

Position duties include:

  • Drive Food Safety compliance by working with Enterprise Quality Field Services as well as plant Quality and leadership staff.
  • Support and enhance the Big 5 program for Food Safety: Traffic Patterns, GMPs, Infrastructure, Equipment Design, Sanitation.
  • Provide technical expertise and ensure compliance for environmental pathogen monitoring program. Manage all environmental pathogen monitoring data and training.
  • Monitor Construction Food Safety plans for appropriate and consistent content, documentation and execution.
  • Coordinate and innovate with Engineering for infrastructure standards, upgrades and problem solving.
  • Review, update and provide Food Safety training for Home Office, Operations and Technologies teams.
  • Provide technical expertise on microbiological test methods and be active in third party lab management.
  • Create and standardize Food Safety requirements, documentation and execution of plant processes.
  • Assist with HACCP plan reviews and validation.
  • Assist with formulation safety reviews and approvals.
  • Support specified customer and supplier initiatives in conjunction with Enterprise Quality Field Services/Quality Systems/Supplier Quality groups, Sales, Operations and other functions as appropriate.
  • Provide support to Enterprise Quality Field Services and Quality Systems partners through coordinating and/or assisting with selected requirements, initiatives or situations.

Job Requirements

We're looking for leaders who thrive in fast-paced environments. Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or closely related field
  • CQE/CQA certification preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in food manufacturing (food safety and quality)
  • Understanding of microbiology and microbiological testing
  • Mid-level understanding of engineering principles for the food industry
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Past training experience including presentations to groups of various size and backgrounds
  • Computer and report writing skills
  • Ability to lead without having direct reports
  • Experience with government regulatory requirements
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data to drive decisions
  • Team player with problem solving skills
  • Desire to grow and take on new challenges and opportunities
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Multi-plant experience preferred, but not required
  • Internal partners: Minimum two years of experience in current role
