Job Description

Food Safety Manager Job Description: Consolidated Biscuit Company has an immediate need for a seasoned Food Safety Manager in their McComb, Ohio Bakery. Consolidated Biscuit Company has been selling cookies and crackers throughout North America and the world for almost 45 years. McComb, Ohio, is a small community located in the northwest part of the state approximately 35 miles south of Toledo, Ohio. CBC is a major manufacturer of shelf stable snacks for the largest food companies located around the world.

The Food Safety Manager will facilitate development, implementation and training for comprehensive systems to ensure food safety and sanitation is maintained to plant and customer satisfaction. The focus will be consistent adherence to documented regulatory, corporate and local regulations, standards and practices. The associate will act as primary Food Safety and Sanitation resource to Consolidated Biscuit Company in McComb, Ohio. The Food Safety Manager will be responsible to conduct risk based Food Safety and Sanitation Audits. The associate will be responsible to review the corrective action for the audit deficiencies and monitor the status of corrective action at the audited facilities. The associate will lead with behaviors that promote cultural change through outstanding team based associate relationships. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Managing the McComb, Ohio Food Safety Program. Develop and implement technical plans, clearly defining the critical issues and approach to be used in resolving food safety issues. • Conduct food safety reviews for new product launch • Determine performance with existing customers. • Develop and manage food safety auditing system using internal audits and reviewing third party audits. • Present persuasive presentations to management on recommendations. • Conducts formal facility risk assessments and prioritizes work based upon assigned risks. • Provides timely, concise, accurate reports of the audit findings • Reviews the facility corrective action for inspection deficiencies • Facilitates compliance with all food safety programs • HACCP, GMP’s, Allergen control, lot traceability, associate food safety training • Monitors effectiveness of Master Cleaning Sanitation Schedule, cleaning procedures, chemical usage and chemical safety • Coaches / trains facility management staffs were necessary • Supports company initiatives to reduce Consumer Complaints; Foreign Material Requirements: • Bachelor Science Degree in food safety related field. • Minimum of one to five years experience in food safety or Quality Assurance • Thorough understanding of food safety principles and food processing • HACCP Certified required. • Food Safety and Sanitation auditing experience required. • Effective written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers. • Minimal Travel • Computer skills: Citrix, Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), Lotus Notes and Kronos • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Organized and detail oriented
