Manage the Quality Assurance Department to ensure quality standards are met and customer satisfaction is achieved. Monitor laboratory testing and results to ensure the highest standards are met. Establish the position as the in-plant expert on pickled and acidified product quality and food safety.ResponsibilitiesWrite quality assurance policies and procedures so that they are in compliance with individual customer requirements.Develop new products as requested, ensure that products are stable and all food safety standards are met.Ensure compliance with all FDA and other applicable governmental statues and regulations;Implement, execute and ensure quality improvements and initiatives, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and food safety programs;Direct the Quality Control Technicians in completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner.Oversee sanitation department and conduct or make arrangements for sanitation trainingConduct periodic internal plant inspections and develop and effective vendor audit program for primary vendors.Review production orders and/or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates'Ensure in coming raw material is in compliance with established criteria by coordinating pre-harvest and review of field and cooler operationsEnsures quality hold activities are performed and reported in a proficient mannerComplete Process Filings with the State of California and FDA as needed.Perform Quality, Safety, GMP and other training for all employeesWhat youll bring to the Table:Experience and/or Education:Bachelors degree in science in Food Science or a related field5-7 years in food industry, with 2-4 years in supervision, in a food manufacturing environment.Knowledge of HPLCHACCP CertificationExperience overseeing sanitation, food safety, audits, etc.
