Pfizer Consumer Healthcare is looking for an R&D Director, Flavor
Development to join our consumer healthcare R&D team based in Foothill
•Proactive, positive and engaged leader who will oversee PCH R&D
Operations Flavor Development Team and expand the capabilities of this
platform across all therapeutic areas and dosage forms in the PCH portfolio.
•A member of the Global R&D Operations Leadership Team driving productive
interfaces with internal and external partners such as Product Design,
Analytical, Pfizer Global Supply (PGS), Quality and manufacturing teams as
well as strategic partners to provide assessments and drive implementation of
new flavor development technologies, processes and capabilities.
•Leads and deploys resources to support the development of novel, innovative
flavor profiles in a wide range dosage forms for dietary supplements,
cosmetic and non-prescription drug products.
•A recognized technical and people leader with a track record of talent
development and building technical capabilities.
•Ensures projects are planned and completed using sound technical principles
in accordance with agreed upon project timing.
•Supports technology transfer efforts and manages departmental operations and

to taylor messages to a variety of audiences as

•Ensures the Flavor Development team operates in a manner compliant with

•Understands product development and facility management requirements in both
a development and cGMP manufacturing environment.
A proactive leader and member of the Global R&D Operation Leadership team
contributing to functional oversight, talent development, capital equipment
strategy, annual budget planning and management.
1.Develop people and build departmental technology
capabilities in the Flavor Development team.
2.Actively supports product development efforts in PCH
Global R&D working closely with Product Design, Analytical Leaders, PGS
Technology and Marketing colleagues.
3.Leads evaluation of new flavor profile development
and evaluation technologies to support the development of novel, innovative
product flavor profiles that delight the consumer.
4.Has an understanding of manufacturing unit
process, development and manufacturing operations as well as compliance
requirements in a cGMP environment.
5.Exhibits a deep understanding of experimental
design and analysis leading to robust conclusions and subsequent decisions.
6.Acts as a sponsor or technical leader for key
initiatives assigned within GR&D Operations or across PCH teams.
7.Effectively partners with R&D Innovation
Center Leads in regions around the world to support new product and
technology development, technology transfer, problem solving as well as

12.Learns and applies innovation tools such as
Education & Experience
Masters or Ph.D. preferred in Flavor Chemistry, Flavor Science, Chemistry,
Nutritional Sciences, Food Sciences, Food Chemistry.
Advanced degree in Pharmaceutics or related discipline also acceptable.
BS degree with a minimum of 18 years of relevant experience
MS degree with a minimum of 16 years of relevant experience
Ph.D. degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
10-15 years in a leadership role

•Successful track record in leading and developing individuals within a matrixed environment
