Food Scientist – San Antonio, TX
Salary: $60K - $65K Bonus 15-20%
Location: San Antonio, TX
Job Description:
- Research,
conduct experiments, gather data, develop preliminary findings and
prepare written reports for the development of new products from
conception through successful commercialization
- Select
appropriate methods, tests and procedures for testing
- Develop
project timelines, create technical proposals and reports
- Conduct
plant trials and new product start-ups; work closely with customers
and suppliers in the development of new products
- Develop
finished product and processing specifications
Qualifications:
- MS
- Food Science, Cereal Science or Food Chemistry and 3-5 years
hands-on experience in the development process --OR-- PhD
and 1+ year experience in the food industry
- 3-5
years experience working cross-functionally with R&D, QA,
marketing, culinary and production
- Strong
knowledge of ingredient functionality and bakery products/processing
- Experience
taking new products from concept through to test and final
implementation
- Excellent
project management, communication and presentation skills
- 3+
years innovative bench top product and program development experience
and capabilities
- Knowledge
of current theories/practice of moisture management
- Knowledge
of FDA and FTC regulations
- Background
in food chemistry specific to ingredient functionality and ingredient
interactions
- Nutritional
or nutritional products background a plus
- Proficient
in the use of MS Office and the use of Statistics
