We are currently seeking qualified applicants for a direct hire
position with a local company who produces and distributes candies and
chewing gums in 130 countries worldwide. Our customer was established in
2001 and some of its brands are household names and are much-loved
throughout five continents. Products include Mentos, Fruittella,
Airheads, and many more.
As a Quality Control Technician you would be responsible for supporting
efforts to ensure and improve the quality of products and processes
throughout the organization by maintaining quality metrics to monitor
quality levels, identifying areas for improvement and implementing
effective, permanent and systemic solutions. Monitors/Collects qualitative
and quantitative data for all products (work in progress, raw materials,
and finished products) manufactured in the facility to ensure that products
meet specifications. Testing includes physical parameters of raw materials
and finished products (water activity, pH, moisture, brix, bulk density,
etc.) and entry of data into Excel spreadsheets. Decides product
disposition based on testing results.
Qualifications needed:
A minimum
of an Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline (prefer
food science or chemistry, biology) and at least 3 years experience (preferable in a food
manufacturing facility) or at least 5 years
experience in a quality control function and a recognized Food
Technician Certification.
Ability
to be flexible with extended work hours as this position will be
required to rotate shifts every quarter (i.e. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
rotations).
Knowledge
of GMPs, HACCP, FDA and OSHA regulations, and Labeling Laws.
Relocation is not available for this position. Local area
candidates are highly desirable. This position pays $35-40K commensurate on
education and experience.
