Job
Description
Responsible for:
- Budget
associated with the function of Food Safety for the facility.
- Directs,
plans, and implements food safety, and sanitation programs for the
facility. Implementation and delivery of key operations metrics, and
ensure that food safety expectations are met.
- Partners
with Corporate Quality for various program implementations and best
practices.
- Ensures
the facility meets all required food safety laws, regulations, and
corporate policies.
- Provides
guidance and support to facility operations team to ensure quality &
food safety compliance and has the authority to suspend operations when
serious quality & food safety risks are identified.
- Responsible
for food safety accountability for all hours of operation.
- This
position may be responsible for the oversight, management, and the
development of direct reports.
- Develop
and maintain processes to ensure compliance with all HACCP, FDA and AIB
standards or regulations.
- Develop
and maintain all training and associated records as it pertains to
sanitation, food safety and quality requirements.
- Maintains
production records as they relate to the sanitation of the plant and
safety and quality of the products produced.
- Expected
percentage of travel for this role is less than 10%.
Required
Skills
-BA degree in food science, microbiology,
or related science field and 5+ years experience in food safety.
-Previous HACCP certification program design and implementation is required.
-Thorough technical knowledge of quality & food safety
-Strong written & verbal communication skills, analytical ability,
leadership strengths and ability to work effectively with a team
Required
Experience
-Experience with Global Food Safety
Initiative (GFSI), and the implementation of recognized food safety and
quality management systems such as Safe Quality Food (SQF), as well as ISO
22000 and PAS 220.
-Experience in managing people and
processes
-Prior Food Safety leadership experience
-Food processing and packaging experience is desired.
