THE PARTNERSHIP FOR FOOD
SAFETY EDUCATION INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY The non-profit Partnership
for Food Safety seeks interns year-round who are interested in the ways
government, industry, and health and consumer groups work together to educate
the public about safe food handling and preparation. The Partnership saves
lives and improves public health through research-based, actionable consumer
food safety initiatives that reduce foodborne illness. This is an excellent
opportunity for students to gain experience in health communications and
public-private sector coalitions. The Partnership is the
creator and steward of the Fight BAC!® campaign, a
food safety education program developed using scientifically based
recommendations and resulting from an extensive consumer research process.
Fight BAC!® materials are fully accessible online at www.fightbac.org and
utilized by consumers, teachers, dietitians, public health officials and
extension agents across the United States. This internship opportunity
would focus on one or more of the following areas: " Stakeholder
engagement planning and execution This is an internship with
excellent practical experience. A small housing stipend is available. REQUIREMENTS Applicants should be
current undergraduate or graduate students, or recent graduates. Our office
is located in Arlington, VA. The ideal candidate would
have an interest in public health, food safety, strategic planning, and/or
marketing and communications. Candidates must be able to thrive in a
fast-paced work environment. Strong research and writing skills are a must.
Skills in html or web development are a plus. This is not an administrative
internship. |
