As an ambassador of Eataly products and services, our Food Safety Manager is responsible for helping to create and maintain quality experiences for each guest that comes to Eataly. Eataly ambassadors are expected to actively engage with guests and spend quality time with each customer.

Job Title: Food Safety Manager

Reports To:General Manager of Eataly

Job Description:Eataly’s Food Safety Manager will be responsible for the total upkeep and maintenance of Eataly’s Food Safety program. Our ideal candidate will have experience managing a large staff on a 24-hour schedule, and will have experience in the food service industry and be familiar with health regulations. Our Manager will assume responsibility from beginning to end of all food safety projects involving our restaurant and retail facilities, including, but not limited to: safety levels, proper expiration dates, recycling and composting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

--Will be responsible for the constant maintenance and for ensuring the healthy and compliant working conditions of multiple 24 hour facilities. This includes all building, restaurant and retail facilities.
--Ensures that exceptionally clean and sanitary conditions are maintained and that employees are abiding by state and federal regulations at all times.
--Works with related team members to pass inspections at both Eataly and Birreria at all levels.
--Assess the current and ongoing condition of all food-service-related equipment in order to properly identify problems and anticipate needs.
--Performs daily checks of each restaurant and retail space in order to verify all temperatures, cleaning standards and requisition of damaged goods.
--Trains, schedules and manages a food safety team and ensures that they are fully versed on state and local rules and regulations as well as Eataly goals, and that excellent safety standards are consistently met.

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

--Must have knowledge of compliance to OSHA and Department of Health requirements.
--A bachelor's degree in management, nutrition, health safety or a related field is preferred.
--Demonstrable experience in the field is strongly preferred.
--Bilingual in Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
--An effective leader and team resource, with fantastic communication and decision-making skills.
--Must have strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle many projects at once.
