FOOD SAFETY TECHNICAL SPECIALIST

leader in the production and distribution of inorganic minerals, is looking for
a Food Safety Technical Specialist based at our evaporation plant in
This position reports to the Lyons QC Manager and is primarily responsible for
the food safety and quality control of the manufacturing process. This is
achieved by performing food safety audits; analytical testing on process and
finished product samples; and troubleshooting process related issues to assure
the overall quality of the end product. Responsibilities include overseeing the
plant sanitation committee, conducting plant audits & training, writing, implementing
and enforcing quality system and sanitation policies, and daily QC testing.
BA/BS Chemistry, Biology, or related science degree is required with a minimum
of 3-5 years laboratory and/or food safety experience; or an equivalent
combination of education, work experience and/or training. We desire a person
who is competent in Microsoft Office applications, detail oriented, has
exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities,
team oriented with knowledge of HACCP, food safety, General laboratory
analytical techniques, and continual improvement of quality system.
