Food Technologists - Research & Development - Plymouth, WI

The Food Technologist provides research, product and process development and sensory support to the Research and Development Team. This personís main focus is on new products and line extensions, particularly those initiated by customers. In addition, the Food Technologist will be involved in the reformulation of existing products.
∑ Provides support for the customer request process including but not limited to: development of new products and line extensions, organization and implementation of in-plant trials, providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for customers.
∑ Performs application testing and consults with chefs on developed new products and line extensions.
∑ Oversees plant scale-up of new products including follow through to launch, commercialization and auditing.
∑ Supports the in-house Sensory program.
∑ Provides support to the Operations Team on efficiency initiatives, alternate ingredient testing and sourcing and validation of new ingredients.
∑ Manages assigned internal R&D projects using proven scientific protocols, food science principles and project tracking tools while maintaining full and accurate laboratory documentation.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelorís Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Food Science or other related field. 2-5 of product development with cheeses and/or culinary formulation with dips, spreads or sauces, highly desirable. In addition, candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to work one-on-one with customers. Demonstrated problem solving skills to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions as well as project management skills, required.
