Job Purpose


The Quality Professional coordinates and executes the quality program designed to ensure the quality and food safety production ofBarilla America Inc. (BAI) brands are consistent with established standards set in Parma and by Quality & Food Safety Senior Manager – Americas.


Key Accountabilities


· Diffuse the tools and instruments for Quality (Barilla Quality System Management, HACCP, Integrated Pest Management, GMP, GDP) and guarantee their correct application and improvement.

· Ensure that all the measures to guarantee finished products’ compliance with specifications are properly executed.

· Coordinate the Plant and warehouse QC activities following established guidelines, methods and assistance.

· Analyze the data related to Quality and use it to promote the continuous improvement of the Raw Materials, Packaging Materials and Finished Products Technical Specifications.

· Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) on Quality and Food Safety and use them to promote continuous improvement.

· Apply the Barilla Complaint Management System in the US.

· Be the recognized technical reference supporting all Company departments for Quality related issues.

· Apply the Company’s set of Vendor Assurance tools for Raw Materials, Packaging Materials, Finished Products and Logistics providers from approval to performance evaluation.

· Provide prompt and accurate information/documentation in case of Food Safety Crisis.

· Identify and lead cost reduction/effectiveness improvement projects.

· Audit suppliers for their approval and suggest improvements to their Quality Systems and follow up.

· Audit Barilla Facilities on Quality and Food Safety Programs as deemed necessary by Barilla Headquarters and/or Certification requirements

· Write the Quality Annexes of Purchasing Contracts.

· Support the Writing and Entering of Quality Annex Control Plan into SAP for Barilla Plants

· Represent the interface between Barilla plants and the suppliers for all problems related to supplies quality.

· Work on eliminating complaints.

· Assist in managing and reconciling Distribution and Warehouse Hold (B002) material, in a timely manner.

· Other duties as assigned.




· Bachelor’s degree in Quality or related field

· 3-5 years of CPG and/or food company food company experience

· 3-5 years of work experience in Quality including root cause analysis, quality management, continuous improvement, and non-conformities, corrective and preventive actions

· Experience with Quality tools such as QMS projects, ISO 9001:2000

· Experience with GFSI Certification, Ideally FSC22000 (BRC, SQF, etc. are also recognized)

· Working knowledge of SAP and/or SharePoint data systems.

· Food Safety experience preferred

· Proven track record in continuous improvement in the quality arena through the use of quality management tools

· Strong project management skills/capabilities; proven ability to act independently and also work within a team environment

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Fluency in Spanish a plus

· Ability to travel up to 35% domestically and potentially internationally
