India: Food poisoning: 100 policemen ill

In yet another incident of food poisoning,
100 policemen fell ill after eating stale food. The men were deployed at
Hindaun town, during the
Gujjar Mahapadav, in Karauli district. After preliminary treatment at a
local dispensary on Friday, a team of doctors and
compounders have been deputed by the district collector to look after them.
Block medical officer Ram Lal Meena said the policemen were taken ill after
they ate stale food and complained of stomachache and vomitting. While most
policemen were staying at Kheda village, a few lived in the adjoining
villages. However, a doctor on duty said food cannot be the sole reason
behind so many policemen falling ill. They are looking for other
possibilities.
