Sodexo USA is the leading Food and Facilities Management Company in North America. Currently we are searching for a Manager - Food Safety. This position is located in our offices in Downers Grove, Illinois due to business needs. The main role in this position is to ensure corporate and regulatory compliance for the company's quality assurance and food safety initiatives by pro-actively providing technical expertise, training and support cross-divisionally at the regional level. This position is also responsible for managing the crisis resolution process in a timely and precise manner. Key Responsibilities: Assist, coordinate and, when necessary, conduct epidemiological investigations in the event of a suspected food borne illness. This includes, but is not limited to, providing leadership and direction to the appropriate parties concerned, i.e., client, customers, operational management, regulatory groups and crisis managers. Provide support on foreign object investigations and alleged product tampering or contamination. Provide technical expertise and training to the internal pool of instructor's certified to teach the company's mandatory ServSafe food safety certification program. Monitors and provides training and technical expertise for the company's internal, automated, unit-level food safety auditing program. Reviews and supports the third party quality assurance/food safety audit activities for vendors to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Monitor and, when necessary, inspect food vendors for sanitary conditions and compliance with HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices and corporate standards. Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with appropriate regional regulatory agencies and industry associations to be able to impact new or changing regulatory requirements and assist operations in complying with them. Provide representation, technical expertise and guidance to regional operational management, support staff and client to help resolve food safety emergencies, complaints or regulatory issues in a timely manner. Promote quality assurance and food safety internally by providing training on appropriate or current food safety issues or concerns at regional or district meetings. Participate on the corporate Food Safety Council. Contribute and assist in the development, revision, evaluation and implementation of the company's quality assurance and food safety policies, procedures and standards. A.A.S. or B.S., preferably in Public Health or a Food Science related field. A minimum of 3 years in a public health or food safety position. Certified Food Safety Professional (CFSP) or Registered Sanitarian (RS) credential preferred. Spanish applicants are encouraged to apply. ~cb~
