Air Liquide USA LLC (“ALUSA”) is actively seeking a Manager/Director of Food Safety Implementation to be located in Houston, TX.  The individual will perform (but not be limited to) the following responsibilities:


•Develops and maintains the U.S. Corporate wide Food Safety plan.

•Participates in the preparation and approves all technology specific food safety plans.

•Interpret the applicability of U.S. federal, state, and international food regulations and well as customer driven requirements to Air Liquide businesses. Becomes the U.S. AL subject matter expert on food safety.

•Devises Food project metrics and provides routine update to business unit leaders.

•Accountable to select and manage external consultants and registration bodies selected to assist Air Liquide in food registration.

•In coordination with the Food Safety Team proposes food safety implementation schedules, secures approval of business unit leaders, then is accountable that schedules are attained.

•Accountable to devise an agreed to methodology to assess local facilities in attaining needed certifications.

•Collect and prioritize all gaps identified from local assessments into a plan to close gaps by agreed to dates.

•Coordinates and drives necessary changes to 2A level documents minimizing changes where possible and assuring coordination with Food Safety Plans.

•Reviews and approves technology specific 2B level documents to assure coordination with Food Safety Plans and 2A documents.

•Represents or coordinates representation for Air Liquide to external trade groups for matters related to foods including CGA and ISBT

•Monitor professional, trade, governmental and judicial sources for new and changing food regulations, customer requirements, or litigation.

•Utilizes PMO methodology to drive food safety project and ongoing compliance.

•Coordinates with Air Liquide peers in the Europe and elsewhere.




•Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering or biological sciences.

Masters Degree is a plus

•10+ years experience researching, interpreting and maintaining compliance with food, drug, or related field regulatory issues.

•Strong Knowledge of Food Safety Regulations and Customer requirements.

•Experience working in a team environment on collaborative projects including driving diverse teams to an agreed to outcome.

•Strong project management skills.

•Ability to work on global projects where the need to attain local success while complying with parent company directives..

•Extremely organized and effective at time management.

•Excellent communication and team leadership skills with strong managerial skills.
