Sr. Food Technologist

The Sr. Technologist, New Product Development, will be
responsible for the development of new products from concept through
commercialization and maintenance of existing products. This
individual will interact directly with key customers, sales, and
marketing in the development aspect of the new product cycle.
Extensive interfacing with manufacturing is required during the
project implementation phase and cost savings projects. This
individual will need to operate very independently and be highly
adaptable to change. Provides technical or scientific direction and
expertise within the department.
•Self initiated interfacing
with the research and marketing teams to identify product
concepts/trends, evaluate project feasibility, identify appropriate
formulations, develop prototypes, provide on-site plant
commercialization, and prepare all technical documentation.
•Development and implementation of new products both
from customer and marketing requests. Working in partnership with
manufacturing, purchasing and quality assurance to launch new and
improved products, evaluate alternate ingredient suppliers, maintain
appropriate records of work, pilot plant and plant trials, shelf life
studies, prepare prototypes for concept and consumer tests, assist
with commercialization of the products in the factory.
•Work with Sales and Marketing to provide a level of
technical services to the customers.
•Extensive understanding of existing production
capabilities across most sites.
•Perceived as a technical expert to outside customers.
Lead and train junior technologists.
•Initiate and participate in new concept development
programs.

Required
skills:
B.S/M.S. in Food Science, Bakery or Cereal Science, or related
discipline and must have strong bakery product development/formulation
experience. 3-7 years experience in fresh/frozen
baked goods. Good communication and computer skills. Travel Requirment 25-30%
