Key Deliverables

  • Prepare flavoured food products for customer projects, presentations and/or research projects.
  • Select optimal flavours for projects according to specified requirements (i.e., customer, regulatory, legislation, technical costs).

Core Responsibilities

  • Participate in evaluations of flavours in food applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations.
  • Manage flavour data and recipe documentation for food products.
  • Actively maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles.
  • Assist in tasting sessions and presentations to customers/visitors.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment in accordance with EH&S policies.

Functional Skills & Competencies

  • Complete understanding of research documentation protocol.
  • Complete knowledge of lab equipment and materials used to perform lab functions.
  • Complete knowledge of Givaudan safety, hygiene and environmental guidelines/requirements.
  • Understanding of basic food ingredients when used in application.
  • Understanding of selected specific Givaudan food applications processes.
  • Knowledge of our selected food products and their production processes.
  • Basic understanding of the financial aspects of flavour selection (cost-in-use, margins, etc.).
  • Demonstrates tasting skills and is able to effectively describe the flavour profile of the product.

Primary Qualifications (education / experience)

  • B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related area.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area (preferred).
