Job Description
The scientist will provide hands-on project management of
new developmental and existing toddler foods products. As the toddler foods
business relies nearly exclusively on 3rd-party development and
manufacturing, the individual in this role will work closely with senior
staff to manage the technical and business issues relates to Toddler Foods
Product Development including: supplier selection, formulation, process
development, product costing, scale-up, stability, qualification /
validation, reformulations, and commercial new product launches while
limiting risks in the comprehensive new product process. Additionally, the
scientist will serve as a knowledgeable resource on fundamental food
science and food manufacturing topics to assist Quality Assurance and
Operations with troubleshooting and other advanced technical issues
Required Skills
· 4 year college
degree in food science or engineering preferred; or an equivalent degree in
a basic science.
· 2 to 3 years
hands-on experience with food manufacturing technologies and processing
equipment across multiple product platforms, ideally to include grain-based
snacks, fruit products and dairy.
· Knowledge of food
product formulation and raw material specification development to support
regulatory compliance in a nutritional product or foods environment.
· Demonstrated
experience working with 3rd-party contracting/manufacturing sites in foods
product development, ideally to include familiarity with key vendors in the
market.
· Strong analytical
skills and extensive project management execution experience within foods
operations.
· Good communication
and team building skills, ability to lead cross-functionally.
· Prior experience
working with cross-functional product development teams is strongly
preferred.
· Ability to travel
domestically and internationally 25% of the time.
