JOHOR BARU: The
SK Taman Daya 2 canteen has been closed following the
recent food poisoning incident involving 43 students here.
Johor Health
department director Dr Mohd Khairi
Yakub said that the canteen was ordered to close on
Sunday after failing a cleanliness check.
"Department
officers inspected the canteen and it has failed to meet the minimum standards.
"They have
two weeks to clean up before we visit them again for another check," he
said Monday when contacted here.
He added that
his department was still investigating whether poor cleanliness was the cause
for the food poisoning.
"We are
waiting for test results of the food samples we took from the canteen," he
said.
On Saturday,
the students suffered abdominal pains and vomiting after they were believed to
have eaten chicken nuggets at the school's canteen.
