Requirements: BS/MS in food science or related field. 5+ Savory/Sauce food industry related experience highly desirable. Strong project management and organization skills are necessary, as well as good communication skills. Food science, project management skills technical skills and creative culinary skills are required. Must be experienced in food product development. Strong concept to commercialization knowledge with experience managing plant trials. Candidates must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt easily to changing customer needs and be comfortable working in a production facility. The individual must have good creative, problem solving and organizational skills, as well as good communication skills. Would really like to see a MS in Food Science, however, will consider a BS with solid experience.
Duties: Provides technical product development knowledge and services to support the development of new or improved products and processes, with special emphasis on Shelf-Stable Products Technology. Able to do bench top to Pilot plant and plant scale-up. Responsible for managing Food Services projects from concept development through commercialization. Major responsibilities include but are not limited to: develop new shelf stable products for the Food Services Division. Coordinate and execute pilot plant tests, production test work and initial product start-up activities. Manage product development bench top activity to quickly meet customer requests. Prioritize, design and evaluate testwork for quality, feasibility, and cost effectiveness. (236/KO)
