LABORATORY TECHNICIAN FOR
FRIENDLY PLANT OPERATIONS ENVIRONMENT – Wilbraham ,
MA
Friendly Ice
Cream Corp. is looking for a person to work in our headquarters laboratory
facility. The position is part-time covering Saturdays and Sundays.
Each shift is approximately 8 to 10 hours and the hours are flexible in light
of production demands and other scheduling needs. This job is ideal for
those needed additional income or the flexibility to have time free during the
week.
JOB
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The gathering and examining of samples from the production
area. Analytical analysis of
ice cream products. Reading from formulas and other data to
determine accuracy and make changes if necessary. Running bench tests on
raw ingredients to determine initial usage needs. Working
with production areas to ensure safe, sanitary handling and production
procedures. Cooperating with distribution to make sure end
products are sent to restaurants, supermarkets and outside storage in a timely,
efficient manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- College level or equivalent education
in physical or life sciences (chemistry, biology, botany, etc.)
High school or equivalent education with strong science background will
also be considered.
- Laboratory experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication
skills.
- Proficiency in algebra and some higher
mathematics.
HOURLY
WAGE: $15.50 – $18.50 per
hour
