Cargill Value Added Meats Retail facilities utilize state-of-the-art beef, pork and turkey processing capabilities to deliver high-quality meat products to our partners. Cargill Value Added Meats Retail has an opportunity available for a Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory (FSQR) Supervisor - 2nd Shift, located in Albert Lea, MN. The successful candidate will be required to provide leadership and coaching for employees in the Albert Lea, MN facility. The successful candidate will have to meet key targets in the areas of employee safety, turnover, department costs, customer satisfaction and production. To meet department goals, the FSQR Supervisor will be responsible for assuring implementation of company programs. Responsible for managing hourly Technical Services employees. Ensure all food safety regulatory programs are implemented properly. This includes HACCP, SSOP, BRC, Claims Investigation and Quality Programs as well as for effective employee relations, adhering to annual budgets, work process improvement, downtime and follow up for process execution and other duties as required. This supervisor will execute and follow up on safety plans.

Principal Accountabilities:

·         40% - Oversee product quality to ensure total customer satisfaction. Manage internal/external product and manufacturing specifications, data collection, reporting, communication, interpretation, corrective action, accuracy and timeliness.

·         20% - Selection, training, performance management, labor cost management (hours), staffing levels (coverage).

·         20% - Manage “Good Hygiene Principles”, air, sanitation, personal hygiene, pest control, chemical/packaging maintenance, transportation, labeling, environmental temperatures and rework.

·         20% - Supervise compliance of work area to regulatory standards. Maintain thorough knowledge of guidelines and procedures, record keeping, write/monitor plan-specific programs, maintain relationship with USDA inspectors.



·         Minimum 2 years food manufacturing work experience

·         Computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft office

·         Occasional travel - 10%


·         4 year degree in food science or related degree/program

·         Bilingual skills

·         Minimum 1 year supervisory experience

·         Food safety, quality, and regulatory knowledge and work experience
