Job Title: Applications Specialist Online Analytics

Reports to: Marketing Technologies Manager


Job Summary:


Provide overall inside sales support for all Thermo Fisher product lines for the Midwest direct sales and representatives.


Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:



         Provide technical applications and sales support for product line.

         Generate application test reports for customers, direct sales and representatives.

         Provide inside sales support to sales managers, account managers, independent sales representatives, and customers quoting standard/special applications.

         Analyze potential applications by product testing. Prepare samples for test.

         Maintain a comprehensive test report database for direct sales personnel reference.

         Generate quotations and correspondence relating to applicable products.

         Accept orders with necessary customer and application information for processing.

  • Support representative organizations, customers, and internal personnel in all sales related interests.


Other Job Requirements:

  • 5-20% travel

Educational Qualifications:

  • A four year degree in chemistry or food science preferred and three years experience with related product required.

Experience Qualifications:


  • Ability to calculate basic math functions.
  • Intermediate PC operation skills, word processing, spreadsheets, and email functions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Chemical, mechanical and electrical aptitude relative to equipment application/testing procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge professional relationships with peers, management, external customers and distributors.
  • Self motivated; high bias for action.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to operate laboratory analysis equipment for measurement of food properties (Protein, fat, moisture, salt).
