This is a full time position that leads Colemanís Food Safety and Quality Efforts across all facilities, working closely with the local Food Safety and Quality Directors who report into the Divisional Presidents.

This position will be based out of one of these areas: Gainesville, GA; Denver, CO; or Petaluma, CA

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage national Food Safety and QA standards. Ensure that all products meet both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations. Coordinates the activities required to meet quality standards.
  • Audit all plants (owned and co-pack) on regular schedule
  • Develop and Implement a co-packer QA certification and audit process
  • Coordinate and Approve all non-standard USDA communication and issue resolution.
  • Standardize the Quality Management Systems for all Divisions
  • Implement standardized reports, action levels, approvals, etc.
  • Full responsibility for coordination and updating of:
  • HACCP Plans
  • Organic Certification
  • Animal Welfare Compliance Audits
  • 3rd-Party Food Safety Audits/Assessments
  • Recall Plans
  • Microbiological testing procedures
  • Liaise with local QA managers (dotted line reporting) and staff throughout the organization to ensure that the QA system is functioning properly. Where appropriate, advise on changes and their implementation and provides training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.

Requirements Qualifications:

Bachelorís Degree is required

5+ years in food safety and quality management, in raw and further processed meat facilities setting

Able to conceptualize, write and execute a structure of reporting that ensure company minimizes food safety risk

Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written

Strong entrepreneurial drive, proven analytical skills
