  • Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of Target's Food Safety and Product Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Develop and lead the implementation of specific food safety and quality assurance initiatives specific to vendor-produced or in-store produced Owned Brand food products 
  • Develop and maintain relations with federal, state and local Regulatory Agencies and keeping the Owned Brands food team fully apprised of the regulatory requirements and agenda
  • Identify, prioritize and lead key food safety and quality assurance initiatives to minimize or prevent food safety risks, ensure regulatory compliance and deliver the intended quality consistently
  • Collaborate with Food Operations and Food Distribution to align, develop and improve the food safety and quality assurance programs, practices and training for Owned Brand in-store produced food products, food service operations, and the food supply chain
  • Research and stay apprised of key retail food industry regulatory issues and events and serves as a Regulatory Relations representative for Target

Requirements

·         4-year Degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Food Microbiology or related discipline

·         Five plus years experience working in a Quality Assurance management role in food service, food retail, or a related environment involving the sale and/or service of food products

·         Technical and working knowledge of retail HACCP and basic principles of food safety and working knowledge of Quality Management Systems

·         Knowledge of FDA and USDA regulatory requirements for food service and food retailing (US Food Code, GMP/GWPs, Labeling, Allergens, BTA

·         Working knowledge of food service operations and/or retail food production (standardized recipes, production records, product and ingredient ordering and tracking systems)

  • Five plus years supervisory experience.  Demonstrated ability to supervise, train and develop subordinates, facilitate multiple groups and projects to lead significant change
