Description
Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company Division of Johnson &
Johnson Consumer Companies is hiring a Research Manager to be located in Ft.
Washington, PA.
Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company Division of Johnson &
Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. develops and markets baby care, wound care
and skin care products that address the needs of consumers and health care
professionals and incorporate the latest innovations. The portfolio includes
heritage brands JOHNSON’S® Baby and BAND-AID® Brand, as well as leading skin
care brands such as AVEENO® and CLEAN & CLEAR®.
The Research Manager will be responsible for developing processes for
manufacturing of new food and dietary supplement products and for improving
existing processes through experimentation and scale up from bench to pilot
scale to commercialization. The successful candidate must be able to work
independently and manage technical and business requirements including
project budgets and timelines. Will communicate with internal (Quality,
Engineering and Manufacturing) and external partners to coordinate and
execute project plans. Ensure implementation of multiple new product
development plans and programs for the business unit and review and approve
technical documentation to verify compliance to technical specifications and
standards.

Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (chemical, food, pharmaceutical,
biomedical, or related) with 8 years of process development experience in the
food or consumer products industry, or a Master’s degree in Engineering
(chemical, food, pharmaceutical, biomedical, or related) with 6 years of
process development experience in the food or consumer products industry or a
PhD in Engineering (chemical, food, pharmaceutical, biomedical, or related)
with 4 years of process development experience in the food or consumer
products industry is required.
Experience in working in an R&D environment is required.
Experience in performing trials and starting up new manufacturing processes
in a plant environment is required.
Experience with dry blending, spray drying, fluid bed agglomeration, liquid
processing and filling, sizing and screening equipment is required.
Familiarity with tabletting and packaging
operations is highly preferred.
Experience managing external resources including process technology partners
and consultants providing product and process development, process scale up,
analytical testing, consumer testing, shelf life
studies is highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience writing experimental protocols, completion reports,
status reports and process specifications is highly preferred.
Experience linking developments in process science and technology to the
business is preferred.
This position will require up to 25% regionally domestic travel.
