of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. FSIS is the largest employer of
veterinarians in the United States, with 1,000 Public Health Veterinarians.
Our Veterinarians help ensure meat and poultry products that reach the
consuming public are safe and wholesome. Veterinarians with FSIS are public
health professionals who help oversee the effectiveness of farm to table
