Quality
& Food Safety Manger
· Manage
the day to day activities of the quality assurance laboratories
· Lead
16 technicians in the Quality Assurance Team
· Address
quality issues immediately
· Work
directly with other managers and supervisors to resolve quality issues
· Monitory
sanitation to assure that cleaning is done in a timely and effective manner
· Monitor
the adherence to procedures to assure that the Company's manufacturing
standards and Good Manufacturing Practices are followed
· Monitor
adherence to HACCP plans
· Manage
the Product Hold System - investigate the cause of the holds with the goal of
reducing them
· Identify
and communicate problems and obtain resolutions to problems
· Insure
compliance to GSC programs and government regulations as well as motivate
personnel to work safely and maintain safe work environments
· Train,
coach, and monitor performance of lab personnel building a strong team
· Monitor
and maintain accurate Quality Assurance records and documentation system
· Assume
other responsibilities and perform special functions as may be assigned
· May
serve as relief/replacement when Department Head is away
Requirements
· Minimum
of 5 years in manufacturing management/supervisory experience in juice/beverage
environment required
· HACCP
experience required
· GMP
experience required
· Experience
with Word and Excel required
· B.A./B.S.
in technical discipline preferred
· Must
have strong working knowledge and experience with Citrus juices and blends
· Must
have excellent people skills and the ability to lead, manage, motivate,
develop, and coach a diverse work force to form a strong team
· Ability
to develop subordinates, coach for safety, quality and sanitation behaviors and
compliance manage performance an hold direct resorts accountable
· Ability
to work and communicate well with other members of management
· Must
have strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Ability
to make quick decisions not directly covered by organizational policies or
procedures
· Must
have initiative, attention to detail, collaboration and delegation skills,
follow-up and customer service orientation
· Ability
to project self-confidence, authority, and enthusiasm
· Ability
to effectively interface with internal an external resources
· Knowledge
of microbiological concerns of food grade product
· Must
have knowledge and prior experience with HACCP, GMP, Safety and Food Safety
requirements and be able to assist us in being in compliance
· Must
have working knowledge of USDA and FDA regulations
· Requires
visual and auditory acuity, hand and eye coordination, finger dexterity and the
ability to access all work areas
· Ability
to work in different work environments ranging from cold to hot
· Must
have strong computer skills, strong working knowledge of Word and Excel
· Ability
to work extended hours and weekends as required
· Ability
to perform the job in timely manner consistent with industry norms and the
Company's experience with the time required to perform the functions
