Description

Cargill's meat business, headquartered in Wichita, KS, is comprised of beef, pork, turkey, value added meats, case ready, distribution and feeder operations. Cargill's meat businesses employ approximately 35,000 worldwide with processing facilities and sales offices in the US, Canada, Australia, China, Central America, South America, Europe, Thailand.

As a Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Intern, you will learn how to monitor the processing activities of the various departments within the plant facility. It is the responsibility of the Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Interns to ensure that the operations teams comply with proper food handling and product standards. You will be assigned special projects to complete. These projects will consist of current opportunities that we are facing in our industry. Interns will be responsible for the results of their own projects. You will be required to give appropriate project status updates as well as give a final presentation of findings.

We are looking for individuals who wish to pursue a career in the meat processing / Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory arenas.

The candidateís assignment will be at our Columbus, NE; Fresno, CA; Ft. Worth, TX; Nebraska City, NE; Springdale, AR or Waco, TX locations.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications

         Juniors currently working towards a Bachelorís degree in Animal Science, Food Science, Agriculture Business, or Microbiology

         GPA of a 3.0 or above is preferred

         Demonstrated ability to independently solve problems and make decisions

         Collaborate with cross-functional areas

         Ability to relate technical knowledge to job-related duties

         Excellent written and oral communication skills

         Demonstrated leadership experience

         General computer skills

         Right to work in US that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
