This position
is part of the Kraft Food Ingredients R&D Organization based in Memphis, TN. Primary responsibility for this position
includes the execution from concept to commercialization of assigned new
product development, quality improvement, or cost optimization in savory
and dairy flavors.
Responsibilities:
·
Formulate liquid compounded flavors, spray dry
flavors, and dry blends for savory and dairy
·
Generate creative ideas, innovations and approaches
for Savory Flavors Category
·
Interface with multiple cross-functional groups to
execute projects and provide technical support to KFI customers
·
Conduct pilot plant trails and commercialization of
new product development
·
Provide leadership and instruction to technicians
and lower level professional personnel as required
·
Complete apprentice program and become a Certified Flavorist of the Society of Flavor Chemists
·
25% travel to manufacturing sites and customer
visits
Qualifications
·
Bachelor of Science
Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related Applied Science required;
Masters or PhD a plus
·
Minimum five years’ experience in creative flavor
development; Minimum five years food industry experience
·
Member of Society of Flavor Chemists
·
Demonstrated ability of full working technical
knowledge of product and process optimization, including formula
development, manufacturing validation and implementation
·
Interpersonal skills that allow for effective
working relationships with peers, cross functional team managers and
customers
·
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
and proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office)
