Job Description
Reporting to the Product Development
Supervisor, this position will assist with product development of
formulated ingredient products under supervision. Position will prepare
and test samples for customer applications; finish product testing;
maintain and upkeep ingredient and flavor library; and assist product
developers. More specifically, the position will: • Prepare samples in a
Lab or Pilot Plant using existing formulas or new formulas under the
guidance of Product Developers. • Test samples for quality attributes in
order to define produce specification ranges. • Organize and order
ingredients needed by group to prepare customer samples. • Set up and
operate Lab and Pilot Plant equipment. • Set up, execute and interpret
shelf life trials and consumer taste panels.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related field, good
understanding of food science, food preparation, engineering processes,
and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Ability to understand and apply
mathematical and scientific principles. Must have ability to learn and
operate any of the process equipment, as well as understand process and
product testing requirements. Excellent communication skills, and be PC
literate including Microsoft Office programs. In addition, candidate must
be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work in a food processing plant, and
travel to customer sites.
