Provide technical expertise and project execution for ground and
whole muscle meat and poultry projects in support of new and/or
existing products for the Prepared Foods Company:
'« Work with PAD technologists in developing value added meat/poultry
commodities, actively participate in development process; act as key
contact between NPFC and vendors.
'« Drive, manage and implement cost savings projects in meat/poultry
'« Plan, conduct and evaluate necessary test work to meet timelines.
'« Partner with Purchasing to define and evaluate areas of cost
'« Develop and present innovative ideas/concepts to PAD, Purchasing
'« Develop, test, and coordinate the implementation of
product/process improvements both in house and at vendors.
'« Identify and encourage the application of new and improved
methodologies where appropriate; evaluate opportunities of emerging
'« Assist in the development of meat/poultry specifications.
Requires: a minimum of 5 years experience in value added meat/poultry
processing and M.S. in Meat/ Poultry Science. Expertise in meat and
poultry processing/cooking, ability to formulate ground meat and
whole muscle applications. Working knowledge of suppliers and
capabilities. Experience with food processing equipment and
comfortable working in production facility. Excellent project
management, leadership and communication skills. Individual must have
demonstrated capabilities as a highly motivated self-starter.
