Quality Assurance/Sanitation Manager - Salt Lake City, Utah

 

Marketfare Foods, a leader in the fresh sandwich and handheld food snack industry, seeks a Quality Assurance Manager for its manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Specifics of the position are as follows:

 

Reports to:

            Corporate Director Quality Assurance

            General Manager – Salt Lake City Food Center Direct Reports:

            1 QA Supervisors w/6 QA Technicians

            1 Sanitation Supervisor w/19 Sanitors

 

Position Summary:

Responsible for all QA/Sanitation activities to meet company/customer specifications, service, quality costs, safety and people objectives.  Including the development, implementation, and monitoring of all necessary programs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

            Manages compliance with all regulatory and Company defined food safety and sanitation standards, systems, procedures and practices to guarantee absolute wholesomeness of our product.  Examples of these systems include Inbound Inspection, Microbiological Testing, lot tracking, Sanitation, Pest Control and Food Safety and Quality Assurance Systems Training.

            Manages the QA function to ensure highly disciplined compliance with all USDA requirements (including maintenance of HACCP Plan) for all product and process quality parameters and standards including formulations, specifications, approved methods, procedures, and practices.

            Facilitates the Food Centers operation to maintain an EXCELLENT rating from the annual Sillker Audit.

 

Education, Qualifications and Working Conditions:

            Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, chemistry, food science or closely related discipline; Advance degree preferred

            6+ years experience in food manufacturing management, preferably in the fresh/frozen food industry, with demonstrated success at the Manager,  QA/Sanitation level.

            Strong quantitative skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to think critically Self directed with the ability to work independently as well as with peer groups.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work.
