Bakery Food Scientist/Food Technologist Job Description:

Do you have a MS/PhD in food science along with 5-10 years of R & D industry lab experience in food research or applications for the baking industry?

Have you completed additional training such as AIB?

Do you have a passion for creating innovative products in the areas of breads, cakes, tortillas?

Aerotek Scientific, a national leader in scientific staffing, is currently recruiting for a Direct Hire Sr. Food Scientist for our client in the Kansas City area.

The Sr. Food Scientist will be a part of the Innovations Center and will therefore be responsible for developing new bakery ingredients and/or applications and will also support operations for product launches.

In addition, this position will:

Facilitate internal and external plant trials
Develop QA testing procedures
Troubleshoot product problems and quality
Collaborate with other departments including sales and marketing.

The ideal candidate will have in depth knowledge and expertise with baking ingredients such as dough conditioners, enzymes, chemical leavening agents, and emulsifiers including how those agents affect the baking process and products.

This is an incredible opportunity to use creativity and technical insight to manage multiple projects for the companies’ client base.

The incumbent will be communicating across internal departments and with external customers in addition to mentoring and training peers and subordinates. Excellent communication skills are critical.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MS or PhD in Food Science along with formal baking training is required.
Strong communication, creativity, and technical skills are a must.
Candidates must be able to convey intelligently their experience with functional baking ingredients and hands on baking experience as a master baker.
