If so, then you will be pleased to learn that Premium Pet Health, a member of the John Morrell Food Group (JMFG), has a Quality Assurance / Food Safety (QA/FS) Manager position available in Denver, Colorado.
WHAT DOES A QA/FS MANAGER AT JMFG DO?
The QA/FS Manager contributes to our success by providing technical and developmental leadership for all aspects of Quality Services, including Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Food Safety. Partnering with Sales, R&D, Supply Chain and Operations management teams, the incumbent is responsible for the safety, quality and regulation of all products produced, through the management of HACCP plans, SOPs, Labeling, Regulatory and Laboratory services.
∑ Manage, coach, and develop a team of Quality and Technical Services professionals.
∑ Represent Quality and Technical Services to customer.
∑ Partner with operations to set timetables in developing corrective and preventive actions plans as needed for customer improvement opportunities.
∑ Maintain measurement systems, process control programs and auditing processes, as well as tools to verify that customer expectations are being met.
∑ Ensure 3rd Party audits are conducted and corrective actions are taken as well as reported with prescribed timelines.
∑ Develop and implement work instructions and standard operating procedures to ensure all CTQ processes are being monitored and measured including but not limited to lot tracking and product holds.
∑ Develop procedures and processes to build a Quality Manual, addresses Food Safety, HACCP, and all related activities required in a food processing environment.
∑ Manage lab and analytical equipment as required.
∑ Develop procedures for lab procedures and sample preparation.
∑ Develop process to assure that products meet customer requirements.
AM I QUALIFIED TO BE A QA/FS MANAGER? To be considered for this position, you must have:
∑ Bachelorís degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Quality or related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
∑ 5+ years experience in food safety and quality in food processing or manufacturing
∑ 3+ years managing employees in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred requirements include:
∑ Masterís degree in Food Science, Meat Science or related field from a regionally accredited college or university
∑ HACCP certification
∑ Lean Six Sigma Green and/or Black Belt certification
